Akilah Newton Projects (ANP) est une entreprise qui c\u00e9l\u00e8bre la diversit\u00e9 ethnique, de genre, et d\u2019orientation \u00e0 travers la litt\u00e9rature, les jeux et les activit\u00e9s et fournitures artistiques. La fondatrice, Akilah Newton, est une activiste, un auteur et une entrepreneure. Elle a toujours eu une fascination avec les arts, et elle a poursuivi sa passion en \u00e9tudiant la musique, la drame et la danse. En 2003, elle a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 au Royaume-Uni pour fr\u00e9quenter l'universit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Institut des Arts de la Sc\u00e8ne de Liverpool. Apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son baccalaur\u00e9at en Arts, Musique et Gestion du Divertissement, elle est retourn\u00e9e \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al et a cr\u00e9\u00e9 une organisation pour les jeunes \u00e0 vocation artistique. Elle a fond\u00e9 Ouverture avec les Arts<\/a> en 2009, une organisation qui rend l\u2019\u00e9ducation des arts de la sc\u00e8ne accessible aux jeunes de tous les horizons. Elle a reconnu que les arts ont le pouvoir d\u2019unir des communaut\u00e9s, et elle l\u2019a rendu son mission de produire des programmes et des \u00e9v\u00e9nements qui suscitent la discussion sur le changement social. Dans cette veine, l\u2019un des programmes les plus populaires d\u2019Ouverture avec les Arts est la tourn\u00e9e scolaire annuelle du Mois de l\u2019Histoire des Noirs. Cette tourn\u00e9e visite des \u00e9coles \u00e0 travers le Canada et \u00e9duque les jeunes sur l\u2019Histoire des Noirs au Canada \u00e0 l\u2019aide de la musique et des cr\u00e9ations orales.<\/div>

En 2018, Akilah a co-\u00e9crit le livre d\u2019enfants\u00a0Grands R\u00eaveurs: Le Cahier d\u2019Activit\u00e9s pour Enfants sur l\u2019Histoire des Noirs au Canada Volume 1<\/a>. Le livre met en lumi\u00e8re les r\u00e9alisations des Canadiens Noirs dont les histoires sont souvent ignor\u00e9es.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Depuis plus de 10 ans, Akilah a travaill\u00e9 sans rel\u00e2che pour promouvoir l\u2019Histoire des Noirs, et elle voulait capturer le travail qu\u2019elle menait \u00e0 travers Ouverture avec les Arts. Elle a conceptualis\u00e9 un documentaire sur l\u2019Histoire des Noirs au Canada, et sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de production, Productions 18 Novembre<\/a>, est n\u00e9e.
